Floating Shelf Bracket Base Size 630x30x2.5mm

Actual weight of your shelf must be considered when quoting the weight capacity of your custom floating shelf installations. A correctly fitted bracket will have no visible movement between the brackets base plate and the wall surface when load is applied to the bracket rods. This very popular sized floating shelf bracket can suit a custom made floating shelf in size from 80-120cm in length, 25cm to a maximum of 30cm depth and 35mm plus in thickness. (so the base part of the bracket can be rebated into the rear edge of the shelf). The brackets base piece is 63cm long x 3cm deep and is 2.5mm thickness steel. The two support tubes are 18mm diameter and each are 17cm in length measured from front face of the brackets base. The tubes can be cut down to suit shelves of a lesser depth. Use multiple brackets for shelves of a longer length than 1200mm long. The bracket is fitted to the wall surface using screw fixings/plugs suitable for your wall type, (there are 7 predrilled holes in the bracket base (extra holes can be drilled as required, highly recommended) and your custom shelf is fitted onto the two support tubes after clearance holes have been drilled/bored dead straight into the custom shelf to suit the support tubes diameter and length. (ideally use a drill press to bore holes into your custom shelf) Your custom shelf can be secured to the bracket attaching through two holes provided in the support tubes, alternatively lock on to the tubes with small grub screws or an adhesive or silicone can be used to secure the shelf onto the tubes. Support tubes have a slight upward angle to help compensate for any shelf droop when your shelf is loaded up. Multiple holes are provided for fixing to the wall, other holes can be drilled into the brackets base if required to coincide with studs in a hollow wall fixing installation. (highly recommended) Weight capacity of the bracket can be up to 25kg of evenly distributed load when fitted correctly to a good condition solid brick type wall. (depending on wall type, the fixings used, shelf size and most importantly the shelf depth). Weight capacity decreases when used to support deeper or longer shelves, or fitted only to gyprock sheeting in hollow cavity type walls. (weight capacity of the bracket will then be limited to the strength of the gyprock sheet) A correctly installed bracket will have no visible movement between the brackets base plate and the wall surface when load is applied to the bracket rods.
