Floating Shelf Bracket Base Size 185x30x2.5mm

This bracket can suit your custom floating shelf in size from 250-300 mm in length and a maximum of 250 mm depth for the best weight capacity. The shelf should be a minimum of 40 mm in thickness so the 30mm deep base piece can be rebated into the rear edge of your custom floating shelf. Multiple brackets can be used to support longer shelves. The brackets base piece is 185 mm long x 30 mm deep and is 2.5 mm thickness steel and the support tubes are 18 mm in diameter and 175 mm long measured from the front face of base. The bracket is screw fixed to the wall surface using fixings suitable with the wall type (there are 7 predrilled holes in bracket base) and the custom shelf is fitted onto the two support tubes after clearance holes have been drilled/bored dead straight into your custom shelf to suit the support tubes diameter and length. More than one bracket can be used for fitting longer shelves. Your custom shelf can be secured to the bracket through two holes provided in the support tubes alternatively use small grub screws through your shelf, or an adhesive or silicone can be used to secure the shelf onto the tubes. The shelf support tubes have a slight upward angle to help compensate for any shelf droop when shelf is loaded up. If required put small spacing shims under the base of the bracket between the wall surface and the top edge of the base plate of the bracket as required to adjust the angle of the bracket rods. Multiple holes are provided for fixing to the wall, however extra holes can be drilled if required to coincide with studs in a hollow wall fixing installation. Weight capacity of the bracket can be up to 25KG of evenly distributed load when fitted correctly to a good condition solid brick/masonry type wall.(depending on wall type, fixings used, shelf length/size and most importantly the shelf depth). Weight capacity decreases when used to support deeper or longer shelves , or fitted only to gyprock sheeting in hollow cavity type walls (weight capacity of the bracket will then be limited to the strength of the gyprock sheet) Hollow wall anchors can be used if fitting to cavity type walls available here . Minimum of are 5 required per bracket. Consider the weight capacity of your floating shelf will then be dependent on the strength of the drywall sheeting. A correctly installed bracket will have no visible movement between the brackets base plate and the wall surface when load is applied to the bracket rods.
