Floating Shelf Bracket Base Size 300x30x2.5mm

This bracket can suit a custom floating shelf in size 40-50 cm in length up to 25cm to 30cm in depth, and a minimum of approximately 38 mm thickness. Note; multiple brackets should be used for longer shelves. Weight capacity of the bracket is reduced when used to fit deeper shelves (out from the wall measurement). The bracket base piece is 30cm long x 3cm deep and is 2.5mm in thickness and the bracket support tubes are 18mm diameter and are 17cm long measured from the front face of the base piece and spaced at approximately 20cm centres. The bracket is screwed to your wall (there are 7 predrilled holes in bracket base) and the custom shelf is fitted onto the two support tubes after the shelf has been rebated to hide the brackets base piece and clearance holes have been drilled/bored into the custom shelf to suit the support tubes diameter and length. Your custom shelf can be secured through two holes provided in the support tubes alternatively an adhesive or silicone or wrapping masking tape around the rods can secure the shelf onto the tubes. Support tubes have a slight upward angle to help compensate for any shelf droop when shelf is loaded up. Multiple holes are provided for fixing to the wall, however other holes can be drilled if required to coincide with studs in a hollow wall fixing installation (recommended). Weight capacity of the bracket can be up to 25kg of evenly distributed load when fitted correctly to solid brick type walls.(depending on wall type, fixings used, shelf size and importantly depth). Weight capacity decreases when used to support deeper or longer shelves, or if fitted only to gyprock sheeting in hollow cavity type walls. (weight capacity of the bracket will then be limited to the strength of the gyprock sheet). Hollow wall anchors can be used if fitting to cavity type walls available here. Minimum of are 5 required per bracket. Consider the weight capacity of your floating shelf will then be dependent on the strength of the drywall sheeting. Correctly installed floating shelf brackets will have no visible movement between the brackets base plate and the wall surface when load is applied to the bracket rods.
