Floating Shelf Bracket Base Size 300x40x2.5mm

Suits a custom floating shelf in size up to 500mm in length, 350mm in depth, and minimum of approximately 45mm in thickness. (to allow the bracket base to be rebated into the rear of your shelf) Multiple brackets should be used to support longer length shelves. The brackets base piece is 30cm long x 4cm deep and is 2.5mm thickness steel, the shelf support tubes are 18mm diameter and 195mm long measured from the front face of the bracket base. The bracket is screwed to the wall using fixings selected to suit the wall type (there are 7 predrilled holes in the bracket base) and your custom shelf is fitted onto the two support tubes after clearance holes have been drilled/bored dead straight into the custom shelf to suit the support tubes diameter and length. Ideally the rear of the shelf should be rebated to house the brackets base piece when the shelf is fitted to the wall mounted bracket. The custom shelf can be secured through two holes provided in the support tubes alternatively an adhesive or silicone can be used to secure the shelf onto the tubes. Support tubes have a slight upward angle to help compensate for any shelf droop when shelf is loaded up.(the rod angle can be very easily adjusted if required by simply using packing washers between the top edge of the base plate and the wall when fitting the bracket) Multiple holes are provided for fixing to the wall, however extra holes can be drilled into the brackets base if required (recommended) to coincide with the studs in a hollow wall installation. Weight capacity of the bracket can be up to 25KG of evenly distributed load when fitted correctly to good condition solid brick type walls.(depending on wall type, fixings used, shelf size and importantly the shelf depth). Weight capacity decreases when used to support deeper or longer shelves, or fitted only to gyprock sheeting in hollow cavity type walls. (weight capacity of the bracket will then be limited to the strength of the gyprock sheet) Hollow wall anchors can be used if fitting to cavity type walls available here. A minimum of are 5 required per bracket. A correctly installed bracket will have no visible movement between the brackets base plate and the wall surface when load is applied to the bracket rods.
