Floating Shelf Bracket Base Size 480x20x2.5mm

A correctly fitted bracket will have no visible movement between the brackets base plate and the wall surface when load is applied to the bracket rods. This bracket suits a custom floating shelf of approximately 600-800mm in length, up to a maximum of 250 mm depth, (NOTE, deeper shelves will have much lower weight capacity ) and a minimum of 25mm (2.5cm) in thickness (so the bracket base piece can be rebated into the rear of your custom shelf). Multiple brackets should be used to fit longer shelves to give better weight capacity. The bracket is fitted to the wall using fixings to suit the wall type and weight capacity required and your custom shelf fitted on to the support tubes once the rear of the shelf has been rebated to hide the brackets base piece size (480 x 20mm) and your shelf board is drilled/bored to suit the diameter and length of the bracket support tubes. (We highly recommend using a drill press or a horizontal borer to bore holes in the rear of your custom floating shelf). Shelves can be secured to the bracket utilising the two holes in the support tubes alternatively using small grub screws or simply by wrapping masking tape around the tubes to give a tight fit into the bored holes. Please note the tube support rods have a designed slight upward angle to help compensate for any shelf droop when a shelf is loaded up. The bracket base piece is 480mm long x 20mm deep and is 2.5mm thickness steel. The brackets shelf tube supports are spaced approximately at 36cm centres, are 12.5mm in diameter and 133mm long measured from the front face of the base. 7 x 5mm diameter holes are provided for fixing to the wall surface, however extra holes can be drilled into the bracket base if required to coincide with wooden or steel studs in a hollow cavity type wall. (highly recommended). Please note, as with all floating shelf brackets the weight capacity of this bracket depends entirely on wall type, wall fixings used, and the actual weight and dimensions of the custom shelf (particularly the depth out from the wall) being fitted using this floating shelf bracket. More than one bracket can be used for fitting longer shelves. Hollow wall anchors can be used if fitting to cavity type walls available here. Minimum of 5 are required per bracket. If fitting only into gyprock/drywall sheet, the shelf/bracket weight capacity will be dependent on the strength of the wall sheet.
