Floating shelf brackets’ strength depends largely on the wall fixings used and the wall type. Shelf depth affects weight capacity, with deeper shelves supporting less weight. Brackets should be spaced every 50-60cm. Each pair supports up to 30kg when mounted on a solid brick or cement wall using appropriate fixings. The bracket base measures 80mm wide x 34mm deep x 3mm thick in galvanised steel, featuring four slotted holes for fine adjustment. The support tube is 155mm long and 18mm in diameter. Designed for shelves at least 40mm thick and up to 300mm deep, weight capacity reduces as depth increases. For longer shelves, install one bracket per stud or every 500mm on solid walls. Gyprock cavity wall anchors require at least two per bracket but limit load capacity to wall sheeting strength. Always test your installation for stability; a secure bracket shows no movement between base and wall under load.
